    Description
Pair of superb quality, antique European solid silver figural marriage spoons, each of the spoons with a deep oval bowl and elaborated stem. The front and back of the elaborate stems are finely hand-chiseled and engraved, including the finials in the form of a 17th-century bust of a woman.
The lower part of the stem is bearing a heraldic shield with the date 1625.
The shields are decorated with mascarons on the back
The spoons are finely hand-chiseled and engraved, and the quality of this work is better than found on jewelry.
The execution of such spoons by a goldsmith artist, which, in fact, makes these spoons a superb work of art, was a time-consuming and costly undertaking.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length of the spoon: 15.6 cm (6.14 inches).
WEIGHT: total weight of two spoons; 96 grams.
The spoons are stamped with unidentified hallmarks.
One of them is stamped on the back of the bowl with two hallmarks:
crossed swords and the number "13" (loth) topped by the letter "H ."
The second spoon is hallmarked on the back of the bowl with two crossed swords, stamped at the bottom with the number "13" (Loth), which covers the lower part of the sword's blades, and the third hallmark depicting an animal, possibly a horse.
Since we couldn't find these silver hallmarks in any reference books on silver marks, we don't know when or where these spoons were made. 13 "loth" stands for 812/1000 silver purity (13 loth = 812/1000) and was used in Germany, Austria, Poland, and Hungary.
