DESCRIPTION: Set of Five Matched Rare Color Opaque Turquoise with Yellow & Brown/black Feathering. Antique Venetian Handmade Lamp Worked "Feather Beads"- about 100 years old. These are not copies- and are genuine! Some of the most beautiful and striking of the Antique Venetian "feather beads". Each bead was handworked over a flame, wound, then decorated with fine yellow & brown/black glass threading- which was pulled with a paddle, tools, and worked in the flame to produce the delicate feather design. These beads are color matched, and only slightly vary in size, all handpicked to make this great set of Five Beads. So Nice!!COLOR: Opaque Turquoise- slightly translucent in strong light, with delicate yellow glass & brown/black feathering design. The actual color is very close to the photos.
SIZES: ~15mm hole to hole (H-H) X 7mm, ~17mm H-H X 7mm, ~17mm H-H X 7mm, ~16mm H-H X 7mm, ~17mm H-H X 7.5mm. These are each handmade so some variation is normal and to be expected, but match very well in color, size and shape. See photos.
CONDITION:
Surface wear and tear is to be expected with Antique Trade Beads that have traveled, been Traded, and been worn.
Feather Trade Beads are a very delicate type of bead, and typically will have some end chips. Two beads had one rough end each: Photo #11 shows end of 3rd bead from right, and end of 1st bead on the right. Photo #12 shows end of 1st bead on right. All other bead ends appear intact and I did not see any cracks.
Normal surface air hole pops noted here and there.
Please use the photos to help determine condition and appearance, and zoom in as needed.
